Dear Mrs. Ford,
I am happy to welcome you and John to my grade 3 class at Forest Park Elementary this year. We have an exciting school year planned, with units on dinosaurs, space, and solar energy. Mrs. Walters told me that John loves to talk about sports, so I will be sure to make sure that he has a chance to read and write about the Nittany Lions!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have taught in the school district for four years, and I am especially interested in helping children learn to use computers for writing activities. I also am helping out with the local soccer teams during the summer.
I am looking forward to meeting with both of you to discuss goals for this year. I would be very interested in talking to you about some of your goals for John, and the situations in which you have seen him do some of his best work. I will telephone you during the next two weeks to discuss a time that is convenient for you to meet.
I am looking forward to the 1998-99 school year with John. We will provide all the art and writing supplies that he will need at school, however please be sure that he brings boots on rainy days because the play ground can get muddy!
Please call me at 865-7199 (between 3 and 4 is usually the best time to catch me) if you have any questions
Looking forward to meeting you soon,
Mr. Jamison
