Doesn't this seem like an awful lot of work? It is. But positive, ongoing, early, and trusted communication is an ounce of prevention that saves a pound of cure. To the extent that you start off with a positive relationship with parents, and develop that relationship, you will be able to focus on moving forward with families, not trying to deal with misunderstanding and mistrust.
